Dedication

This book is dedicated to the memory of Lorenzo Pitts Sr. and to all the African American families who struggled to keep hold of generational wealth and fight the legal system to keep their ancestral property. Throughout history, African American families have faced systemic racism and discriminatory laws that have made it difficult to retain property and build wealth. Many have encountered barriers such as redlining, predatory lending practices, and unjust taxation policies. Additionally, the legal system has often been used to strip them of their land through loopholes and biased court rulings.

These injustices have not only resulted in the loss of land and wealth but also in the erosion of cultural heritage and community stability. Despite these challenges, many families continue to fight for justice and work to reclaim their rightful legacy, highlighting the resilience and determination of African Americans in the face of adversity.
